Utah State University Honors 96 Student-Athletes at Commencement Ceremony

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State University (USU) will celebrate its 138th commencement ceremony on Wednesday, April 30, at 7 p.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, honoring 96 student-athletes who completed their degrees during the 2024-25 academic year. This notable cohort includes 22 graduate degree recipients and 74 undergraduate degree recipients.

The graduating class boasts representation from various sports, with 30 football players, 11 athletes from men’s track & field and cross country, 10 soccer players, and multiple representatives from other sports, including men’s basketball, softball, gymnastics, and volleyball.

USU has a proud tradition of academic excellence among its student-athletes, evidenced by an NCAA Graduation Success Rate of 91%, ranking them among the top in the Mountain West Conference. The cumulative GPA for this group is an impressive 3.42, with 105 academic all-conference honors, 82 Mountain West Scholar-Athletes, and 15 academic all-district honorees, alongside three scholastic All-Americans.

In the 2024-25 academic year, 91 student-athletes earned Academic All-Mountain West honors, while 266 were recognized at the Sagebrush Awards Banquet for achieving a GPA of 3.2 or higher.

This year’s graduates combine athletic prowess with academic determination, reinforcing USU’s commitment to excellence both on the field and in the classroom. The celebration of these accomplished individuals showcases the university’s emphasis on balancing sports and education, fostering a culture of achievement that resonates throughout the institution.
