Tarleton State Baseball Secures 14-4 Victory Against Utah Tech
STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The Tarleton State Texans showcased an impressive performance against the Utah Tech Trailblazers, achieving a decisive 14-4 run-rule victory in their latest matchup. With this win, the Texans extend their winning streak to five games, improving their record to 20-25 overall and 8-7 in conference play.
Tarleton started strong, with Rayner Heinrich hitting a single that set the stage for Trace Morrison’s first-pitch home run, giving the Texans a quick 2-0 lead. The second inning was explosive, with Tarleton scoring six runs off seven hits, including a two-RBI double from Heinrich and a triple from Morrison, pushing the score to 8-0.
Although Utah Tech fought back in the third inning with four runs, highlighted by solo and two-run home runs from Kace Naone and Hunter Katschke, Tarleton maintained control. Key performances included Tyler Olson’s scoreless relief efforts and Morrison’s two-run shot in the sixth, marking his fifth home run of the season.
The Texans finalized their run-rule victory with three more runs in the seventh. They will look to continue this momentum as they head to Houston Christian for their next game on April 30, 2025.
