Utah Football Offers Scholarship to Four-Star Recruit Zac Fares
The University of Utah football program is intensifying its recruitment efforts for 2027 four-star tight end prospect Zac Fares, who announced on social media this week that he has received a scholarship offer from the Utes. Standing at 6-foot-5 and hailing from Arbor View High School in Nevada, Fares ranks as the third-best recruit in his state and the 11th overall tight end in the nation, according to 247Sports.
Fares, alongside his high school teammates Thaddeus Thatcher and Damani Warren, has been on the radar of head coach Kyle Whittingham and his staff for some time. All three players attended Utah’s junior day in January, where Fares expressed his gratitude for the offer following a conversation with Whittingham’s son, offensive coordinator Freddie Whittingham.
"After a great conversation, I’m very blessed and grateful to have received an offer from @Utah_Football," Fares posted on X/Twitter.
Thatcher, a four-star quarterback, recently committed to Utah, raising speculation on whether his decision will influence his teammates’ choices. Fares is regarded as one of the top tight-end prospects in the country, boasting over 24 Division-I scholarship offers and has already made an unofficial visit to Oregon.
In his sophomore season, Fares recorded 35 receptions for 614 yards and three touchdowns. Known for his polished route-running and reliable hands, he offers versatility, able to line up in multiple positions, including the slot and backfield.
Currently, Thatcher is the only commit for Utah’s 2027 class, though his brother Christian, a linebacker, committed to the Utes last June, highlighting the family connection to Utah football.
