Lisa Eccles honored as a ‘Giant in our City’ by Salt Lake Chamber, according to Deseret News


The Salt Lake Chamber recently presented Lisa Eccles with the 2025 Giant in our City award, recognizing her exceptional public service and professional achievement as the president and COO of the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation. The award, considered the most prestigious by the Chamber, was established in 1969 and has previously honored individuals like former governor Gary Herbert and Gail Miller. Eccles, who has dedicated her life to philanthropy, has led the foundation’s grant program and contributed almost $1 billion to various causes and organizations. She is also involved in numerous boards and has played a key role in preserving historic sites in Utah.

Additionally, the chamber presented the Utah Community Builder Award to author and co-founder Joseph Grenny for his work in addressing poverty, addiction, and homelessness through initiatives like The Other Side Academy and The Other Side Village. These awards were presented at an event at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. Eccles expressed gratitude for the recognition and thanked her family and peers in the business community for their support.
