A sailor and his cat were rescued by emergency services after encountering difficulties due to failing navigational equipment on their vessel. The Guernsey Coastguard received a distress call on Friday, alerting them to the sailor’s disorientation in poor weather and low visibility.
The St Peter Port all-weather lifeboat and the Channel Islands Air Search were deployed to locate and rescue the man and his cat, who were found to be cold, wet, and fatigued but thankfully uninjured.
