Cornerback Don Saunders has had quite the journey to get to Utah, transferring from Texas A&M this offseason after beginning his football career in high school. After impressing at Cal Poly with his skills, Saunders led the team in interceptions and pass breakups, earning Second Team All-Big Sky honors. Despite initial struggles at Texas A&M, Saunders knew Utah was the right fit for him due to the welcoming environment and opportunity for playing time. Utah, in need of cornerbacks, brought in Saunders along with other additions, all of whom offer length and disruptive play at the position. Saunders and fellow transfer Blake Cotton have stood out in practice, competing for a starting spot alongside other talented players. Coach Kyle Whittingham commends Cotton and Saunders for their contributions, and the competition among the cornerbacks is pushing the group to excel and form a strong bond. The brotherhood mentality and hunger for success are driving this group of cornerbacks to new heights as they prepare for the upcoming season.
