Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed ministries to consider special visa incentives for high-profile foreign visitors, such as billionaires and celebrities. The goal is to propose specific policies for short-term visa exemptions and streamline visa approval procedures for tourists. The PM also suggested including artists, athletes, experts, scientists, and investors in the visa exemptions.
Since March 1, Vietnam has granted visa-free travel for citizens of Poland, Czechia, and Switzerland on package tours for 45 days, and extended visa exemptions for citizens of 12 countries until 2028. Additionally, citizens of all other nations receive three-month tourist visas. Vietnam aims to attract 22-23 million foreign tourists by 2025, following last year’s 17.6 million visitors.
These new visa policies align with Vietnam’s goal of boosting tourism and international cooperation activities. The country is making efforts to attract a diverse range of visitors, including high-profile individuals, who can contribute to its economy and cultural exchange.
