Utah crushes Kraken 7-1, halting Seattle’s 3-game win streak

In a dominating performance, the Utah Hockey Club secured a 7-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken. Mikhail Sergachev led the way with a goal and two assists, supported by Dylan Guenther’s three assists and Karel Vejmelka’s 18 saves. Utah had seven different players contribute goals, with Clayton Keller and Logan Cooley each adding a goal and an assist. Despite Jared McCann scoring Seattle’s lone goal, the Kraken’s three-game winning streak came to an end.

One key moment came when Lawson Crouse quickly scored an unassisted goal at the start of the second period, sparking a flurry of goals for Utah. The team also dominated shots on goal, holding a 29-11 advantage through the first two periods. Vejmelka’s 21st consecutive start set a career high and marked the longest streak for any NHL goaltender since the 2018-19 season.

Both teams will be back in action on Thursday, with Seattle concluding a five-game road trip at Vegas and Utah hosting Nashville in their home finale. Fans can catch nearly all Utah Hockey Club games on Utah 16 this fall.
