Utah State’s golf team started strong with a 2-under 286 in the first round of the Wyoming-hosted Cowboy Classic. They were unable to finish their second round due to darkness but were tied for 12th place in the 23-team field following the first round. Iowa State led the field at 17-under 271, with Luke Gutschewski in first place individually after carding an 8-under 64 in the first round. Utah State’s Esteban Jaramillo shot a 3-under 69 and was tied for 12th, while Enrique Karg carded a 2-under 70 and was tied for 22nd.
Teams will finish their second round on Tuesday morning and conclude the tournament with the final 18 holes later in the day.
