The University of Utah swim program got off to a strong start at the CSCAA National Invite in Ocala, Florida, securing four medals on the first night of competition. Head coach Jonas Persson expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, particularly highlighting the growth opportunities for a young team competing in back-to-back championship meets.
Jones Lambert took home gold in the men’s 500-yard freestyle, with Nick Chirafisi following closely behind for silver. Strahinja Maslo placed in the top five in the men’s 200-yard IM, while Erin Palmer earned a silver in the 50-yard breaststroke and a gold in the 50-yard freestyle.
Additional strong performances came from Quinn Jones, Jakub Walter, Owen Carlsen, Durgan McKean, Kelson Flynn, and Rylee McColley in their respective events.
