Utah man allegedly operated prostitution ring from West Valley massage parlor

A Murray man, Larry Echols, has been charged with running a prostitution ring out of his massage parlor in West Valley City, Utah. The charges include second-degree felony pattern of unlawful activity, third-degree felony exploiting prostitution, and misdemeanor aiding prostitution. Echols has also been given notice of intent to seek criminal forfeiture of his property and funds.

Police started receiving complaints in October 2023 about a massage parlor allegedly offering sexual services. During their investigation, detectives found that Echols had reserved a room at a nearby hotel where people were seen leaving the spa and going to. Echols notified hotel staff of the women staying in the room but could not provide identification for them. One woman allegedly mentioned that Echols had her passport before being taken outside by him.

Undercover officers visited the massage parlor and were reportedly propositioned for sex during massages. Search warrants were executed at the hotel room, spa, and Echols’ home, leading to the recovery of over $33,000 believed to be linked to the alleged prostitution ring.

It is important to note that charges are allegations and all arrested persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. ABC4 Utah is providing updates on this story.
