Utah resident allegedly defrauds victims of nearly $10 million

The Division of Consumer Protection has filed a complaint accusing Utah man Parker Wilde of scamming nearly $10 million from individuals across the country by promising big returns through setting up automated Amazon stores. The scheme ran from 2018 to at least 2023 and involved receiving consulting and inventory fees from victims who saw no profit from working with him. Alleged victims from various states, including Texas and New Jersey, have come forward claiming losses ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

One victim, Brook Talbot, paid Wilde $106,000 for a store that never materialized, while Amber Edmondson lost money due to unauthorized credit card charges. Others, like Dylan Cox, paid thousands for courses and store setups that never came to fruition. The Better Business Bureau warns against guaranteed returns like those promised by Wilde, emphasizing the red flag in such claims.

Wilde declined to speak with ABC4 on the phone but offered to meet in person. Despite numerous complaints and legal action taken against him, the case is still active with 18 Utahns filing suits against him. The Division of Consumer Protection has outlined 10 violations against Wilde’s business practices.
