Emma Raducanu was unable to focus on the ball due to tears after noticing stalker at match

British tennis star Emma Raducanu recently revealed that she was so distraught after seeing her stalker in the stands during a match last month that she almost couldn’t finish the game. The former U.S. Open champion spoke about the incident for the first time at the Dubai Tennis Championships, where she will be playing with enhanced security. Raducanu described how she was in tears and struggling to breathe after spotting the man fixated on her during her match against Karolina Muchova. Despite the distressing situation, she decided not to press charges against the man, who was subsequently banned from future WTA tournaments.

This was not Raducanu’s first troubling encounter with a fan, as she had previously dealt with a stalker in 2022 who showed up at her home multiple times. Despite these challenges, Raducanu has continued to compete and is currently ranked 55 in the world. She will be facing Japan’s Moyuka Uchijima in the first round of Indian Wells, with a potential match against Coco Gauff in the third round.

Despite the emotional toll of the incident in Dubai, Raducanu expressed gratitude for the support of her fans and for being able to compete again. She shared that she initially wasn’t sure if she would be able to play in Indian Wells so soon after the incident, but ultimately decided to return to the court. Raducanu remains focused on her tennis career and is determined to overcome the challenges she has faced.
