The Portland Pilots secured a thrilling 5-4 victory over the Utah Tech Trailblazers with a walk-off double by Cole Katayama-Stall. The win ties the series between the two teams. JT Landwehr picked up the win for Portland, pitching 2.2 shutout innings in relief. Three Pilots hitters, including Doyle Kane and Zach Toglia, had multiple hits in the game. Toglia also hit a home run to help lead the team to victory.
Portland took an early lead with two runs in the first inning, but Utah Tech responded with a grand slam in the sixth to take the lead. The Pilots fought back to tie the game in the eighth inning before Katayama-Stall’s heroics in the ninth secured the win.
The Pilots out-hit the Trailblazers and showcased strong pitching, allowing just six hits in the game.
