Utah’s iconic Snelgrove ice cream shop is making a sweet comeback to the Wasatch Front after more than a decade, with the opening of a new shop in Centerville this week. The grand opening of the shop, located at 330 W. Parrish Lane, is set for Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight.
Founded in 1929 by Charles R. Snelgrove, the company is led by his great-granddaughter, Lyndsay Snelgrove, who has been spearheading the brand’s revival. The company plans to open three more locations in Lehi, Sandy, and South Jordan in the coming months.
The iconic double-cone signs, a symbol of Utah’s love for Snelgrove ice cream, still stand as a reminder of the brand’s legacy. The brand was discontinued in 2008 but has made a comeback with the opening of a new shop in St. George in 2021.
Customers are excited about the return of Snelgrove, with many sharing fond memories of family outings and first dates at the iconic ice cream shop. The reopening of Snelgrove is not just about ice cream, but about nostalgia and bringing back cherished memories for many Utah residents.
