After losing his father to a rocket attack in 2013, Syasneh joined the Free Syrian Army to defend his land and honor. The conflict in Syria grew more complicated with the involvement of foreign powers like Russia, Iran, and the U.S. The U.S. sent troops to fight ISIS and support Kurdish-led forces. The situation worsened until last year when HTS and Turkish-backed militias took control of Damascus and overthrew the Assad government. Since then, around 200,000 Syrian refugees have returned, but many remain hesitant due to ongoing insecurity. Syasneh is hopeful for a new government led by Ahmad al-Sharaa to rebuild a better Syria. He emphasized the importance of security, safety, and dignity for the Syrian people as they strive to rebuild their nation.
