The Abilene Christian women’s basketball team secured a 71-60 victory over Utah Tech with Meredith Mayes leading the way with 24 points. The Wildcats shot 48.3% from the field and completed the season sweep of the Trailblazers. Emma Troxell and Erin Woodson also contributed with 16 and 13 points respectively. Bella Earle led the team with nine rebounds and eight assists. The Wildcats forced 19 turnovers and turned them into 21 points. Utah Tech’s Emily Isaacson scored 22 points, while Paige Cofer and Chardonnay Hartley also reached double figures.
After a solid performance on the road, ACU will return home to face Tarleton State and UT Arlington in their upcoming games. The team’s win improved their record to 17-10 and 6-6 in Western Athletic Conference play. The Wildcats will host Tarleton State on Thursday for Mentor Day and then face UT Arlington on March 1 for Senior Day at Moody Coliseum.
