Two Individual Regional Champions and Five Podiums Achieved on Busy Race Day


The Utah Ski Team had a successful day at both the RMISA Championships and Alaska Anchorage Invitational. In Nordic racing, Celine Mayer and Zachary Jayne won their respective classic races. In alpine racing, Kaja Norbye and Johs Braathen Herland both made it to the podium in the slalom event. Utah currently leads the RMISA Championships with 359 points, with the final races set to take place on Saturday. In the UAA Invitational, Utah placed second with 642.5 points, narrowly missing out on first place to Colorado. The team’s performance was praised by director of skiing Fredrik Landstedt, with special mention of Mayer and Jayne’s impressive wins in the Nordic races. The seniors on the team will be competing in their final RMISA event on Saturday, which is expected to be a special day of racing. Overall, the Utah Ski Team is looking forward to wrapping up the season on a high note at the NCAA West Regional.
