Cal Poly Men’s Tennis suffered a loss against Utah on Saturday

In a tough weekend matchup, the Cal Poly Men’s Tennis team faced the University of Utah at a neutral site in Los Angeles, ultimately falling 4-1. Despite a strong bid for the doubles point, the Mustangs were unable to secure the win. Wian Roothman was the only singles victor, earning his first career singles victory at Cal Poly. Freshman John Cross and sophomore Sean Kamyshev were also in good positions in their matches before Utah clinched the win. The loss puts Cal Poly at 2-5 for the season, with all five losses starting with a deficit from doubles. The team will look to turn their luck around as they face BYU on Friday, Feb. 21, and Idaho on Sunday, Feb. 23, at home at Ronca Tennis Center. Cal Poly has not lost against either opponent in previous matchups, offering hope for a potential rebound.
