Arizona Gymnastics faced off against Utah on Friday night, earning a total score of 196.125 compared to Utah’s 197.675. The meet started off strong for the Cats on uneven bars, with standout performances from Abigayle Martin and Sophie Derr. Moving to vault, Arizona scored a 48.975 with top scores from Martin and Emily Mueller. Floor exercise saw Elizabeth LaRusso and Mueller delivering impressive routines, with Mueller tying her season-high score. The GymCats finished on balance beam, with Mueller once again leading the rotation with a solid performance. Derr achieved a career-high score of 9.900 on bars, while Mueller set season-high scores on vault and floor exercise.
Arizona Gymnastics will return to McKale on February 14 to take on Iowa State. Despite falling short against Utah, the GymCats showed resilience and determination throughout the meet, demonstrating their potential for future success.
