Utah State University had 91 student-athletes from its fall sports of cross country, football, soccer, and volleyball recognized on the Mountain West all-academic teams. Men’s cross country, women’s cross country, and volleyball had the most honorees, while football and soccer were among the top five in terms of academic selections. In total, Fresno State led the Mountain West with 97 all-academic honorees, followed by New Mexico, Utah State, Boise State, UNLV, and other universities. Student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and be a starter or contributor on their team to be eligible for selection.
Among the notable student-athletes honored were graduate Hannah Davidson, senior Emma Thornley, sophomore Meredith Sanford, and freshman Allie Black from women’s cross country, who all achieved a 4.00 GPA. In football, graduate Spencer Petras had a perfect GPA. The university encourages supporters to donate to the Big Blue Excellence Fund to invest in the academic success of student-athletes.
