A suitcase containing human remains was found in the East River in New York by the police. The suitcase was discovered near Governor’s Island, and the Harbor Unit retrieved it around 5:30 p.m. The individual inside the suitcase was pronounced deceased by EMS at Pier 16. The person’s identity, age, and gender are still unknown, but it was confirmed that the remains were that of an adult. The cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are working to piece together information about the case.
