Utah Emerges Victorious in the Montana State Invitational


The Utah Ski Team emerged victorious at the Montana State Invitational, dominating the competition in slalom races at Bridger Bowl. Led by Kaila Lafreniere and Johs Braathen Herland, the Utes secured a significant lead over their rivals. In the women’s race, Lafreniere finished fifth, with Kaja Norbye in seventh and Evelina Fredricsson in 15th. On the men’s side, Herland placed sixth, with Wilhelm Normannseth and Simen Strand also contributing to the team’s success. The Utes finished with a total of 713 points, outscoring Colorado and Denver by 96 and 109 points respectively.

The team now prepares to host the alpine portion of the Utah Invitational at the Utah Olympic Park. A giant slalom extra qualifier race will kick off the event on Friday, followed by a second GS on Saturday and slalom on Sunday. Fans can attend the races for free, with action starting at 9 a.m. each day. Meanwhile, the Utah Nordic team will compete in the Denver Invitational starting on February 8.
