Vandalism of ancient petroglyphs has once again surfaced in Utah, this time at the Buckhorn Draw Pictograph Panel in Emery County. Graffiti was found etched across four petroglyphs at the site, possibly dating back 3,000 years. The Utah Bureau of Land Management is investigating the vandalism, with the wording “Silvia P” being the focus of their inquiry. This destructive trend erases history and deprives future generations of experiencing the past firsthand. Sadly, this is not an isolated incident, as other instances of vandalism have been reported at historical sites in Utah in recent months. The Bureau of Land Management is asking for any information on the Buckhorn Draw vandalism to be reported to their Price field office. This unfortunate occurrence serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving and protecting our historical and cultural heritage for the benefit of all.
