Utah State track & field had an impressive performance at the UW Invitational in Seattle, Washington, and the Roman Ruiz Speed and Power Invitational in Logan, Utah, this past weekend. The team won seven titles, earned 19 podium finishes, and posted 12 performances that rank in the top 10 all-time at the school.
Junior Logan Hammer set a new school record in the men’s pole vault, clearing 5.60 meters. He also tied for the fourth-highest mark in the country this indoor season. Junior Marshall Rasmussen finished second in the event, tying for eighth all-time. The distance runners had strong performances as well, with standout performances by John Simmons and Jedidiah Megargel.
In the women’s events, junior Sarah Ellis and sophomore Brianne Smith had podium finishes in the 5,000 meters. The team also excelled in the relay events, winning the 4×400-meter relay. The Aggies’ jumpers and throwers also performed well, with several top finishes in their respective events.
Next up for Utah State is the Idaho-State-hosted Stacy Dragila Invitational on February 7th. Fans can follow the team’s progress on social media channels.
