The University of Utah swimming team had a successful outing against the Wyoming Cowboys, with the women winning 156-106 and the men winning 178-84. Erin Palmer set a program record in the 100 breaststroke and also won the 100 free. Several other Utah swimmers contributed to the wins with individual victories as well. According to coach Jonas Persson, the team had personal bests, season bests, a school record, and strong relay performances. Palmer, Norah Hay, Alyssa Sorensen, and Julia Bartell started strong with a win in the 400 medley relay and ended the meet with a win in the 200 free relay. Hay also won the 100 back and 200 back events. Other individual winners included Bartell, Chloe Thompson, Sydney Even, and Ella Derby on the women’s side. On the men’s side, Quinn Jones, Evan VanBrocklin, Parker McOmber, and several others secured victories in various events. The Utes will continue their season against BYU next in a two-day meet at the Ute Natatorium.
