Nevada Women’s Basketball Dominates Southern Utah 72-54 in Nugget Classic
In a commanding performance, Nevada women’s basketball defeated Southern Utah with a final score of 72-54 in the Nugget Classic. The Pack started strong with a five-point run and maintained the lead throughout the game. In the first half, Nevada shot over 55% from the paint and 75% from beyond the arc, entering halftime with a 45-25 lead. Izzy Sullivan led the team with a perfect shooting performance in the first half.
The Pack continued to dominate in the second half, extending their lead to 25 points in the third quarter. Despite efforts from Southern Utah, Nevada never let the lead drop below 19 points. Sullivan finished with 18 points, followed by Victoria Davis with 14 and Kennedy Lee and Lexie Givens with 10 points each.
Nevada’s strong defensive performance included forcing 14 turnovers and holding Southern Utah to shooting under 33% from inside. The team will conclude the Nugget Classic with a game against Portland tomorrow at 1 PM.
