The UNT men’s basketball team faced a tough loss against (RV) Utah State in the championship game of the 2024 NIT Season Tip Off in Kissimmee, Florida. Despite holding the Aggies well below their average scoring and forcing turnovers, the Mean Green ultimately fell short, losing 61-57. Head coach Ross Hodge cited the team’s struggles against Utah State’s defensive strategy and highlighted the need to improve in certain areas. Atin Wright led UNT in scoring with 17 points, while Mason Falslev of Utah State stole the show with a game-high 28 points. The Mean Green will have a week off before their next game on Dec. 6 against High Point, followed by a home game against Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 18.
