The establishment of a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) facility in the Madhurawada IT SEZ in Visakhapatnam is progressing rapidly. Dallas Technology Centre (DTC) has proposed to lease its premises to TCS and has made other necessary arrangements. The state industries and commerce department issued a government order approving this proposal.
DTC has requested an occupancy certificate, permission to sub-lease the premises to TCS, and an additional 1,600 sqm of space at the original rate of Rs 6,720 per sqm. The government had previously allocated a plot measuring 7,774.90 sqm to DTC in Rushikonda. The company plans to accommodate 2,000 IT professionals in Phase I of the TCS operations but requires additional space beyond the current capacity.
The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) reviewed the proposal and recommended a special package for Dallas Technology Centre, which was approved by the government. The government has directed various departments to expedite the implementation of this project.
The proposal aims to enhance the IT infrastructure in Visakhapatnam and create job opportunities for IT professionals in the region. The TCS facility is expected to boost the local economy and attract further investments in the IT sector. Overall, this development showcases the commitment of the government and private sector to promote growth and innovation in the IT industry in Visakhapatnam.
