Utah State Men’s Basketball Secures Spot in NIT Season Tip-Off Championship
ORLANDO, Florida – Utah State men’s basketball remains undefeated after a hard-fought 72-67 victory over St. Bonaventure at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. With this win, USU earned a spot in the NIT Season Tip-Off championship game, where they will face the winner of North Texas and Northern Iowa.
Five Aggies players scored in double figures, including Mason Falslev who recorded his second career double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Despite a cold shooting first half, Utah State rallied in the second half with a 18-3 run to take the lead and secure the win.
The team bounced back from a tough first half where they shot just 24 percent from the field with a strong 47-point second half, shooting 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range. Other notable performances came from Ian Martinez and Dexter Akanno with 14 points each, Drake Allen with 12 points, and Aubin Gateretse with 10 points.
Utah State will advance to the NIT Season Tip-Off championship game, scheduled to tip-off at 4:30 p.m. (MT) on ESPN2.
