The University of Denver men’s basketball team suffered a 68-54 loss to Utah Tech in the Montana MTE Finale on Tuesday. Josh Lee led the Pioneers with 11 points and five steals, while Sebastian Akins added 11 points off the bench. Despite gaining control in the second half, Denver was outscored by Utah Tech down the stretch. Denver will return home before heading to Portland on Sunday for their next game.
Josh Lee achieved a career-high in steals with five, while Akins scored in double figures for the fifth time in his freshman season. Pedro Lopez Sanvicente contributed 9 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks. The Pioneers struggled early but showed promise with a lead in the second half before faltering in the final minutes.
