Press Release: Six Utah Soccer Players Earn Academic All-District Honors
SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah’s soccer program has achieved a significant milestone as six student-athletes were recognized in the College Sports Communications (CSC) Academic All-District announcement this Tuesday. This marks the second consecutive year that the program has seen such a strong showing, setting a new record.
Leading the accolades is Kelly Bullock, who has earned her second CSC All-District honor. The forward played 17 out of 18 games, with nine complete matches, netting two goals and four assists this season. Bullock also boasts an impressive 4.0 GPA while majoring in Kinesiology and Spanish, and was named to the All-Big 12 Second-Team for her efforts.
Graduate midfielder Devi Dudley has been a defensive pillar for the team, participating in all 19 games and logging over 1,600 minutes. Dudley, who holds a 3.66 GPA while pursuing her second undergraduate degree in Environmental and Sustainability Studies, contributed with six shots and one assist.
Offensively, Taliana Kaufusi led the team with ten goals, highlighted by two hattricks, earning her the honor of Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week. With a 3.534 GPA, Kaufusi will graduate in summer 2024 with a certificate in Family, Community, and Human Development. Katie O’Kane matched Kaufusi’s performance with a hattrick and additional contributions, maintaining a 3.626 GPA while majoring in Psychology.
In goal, Kasey Wardle collected 50 saves across 16 games, marking a career high and earning her distinction on the 2023 CSC Academic All-District team with a 3.70 GPA in Communications. Freshman Bella Woods made an impact early with a game-winning goal in her debut, finishing strong with a 3.94 GPA.
The recognition highlights the Utes’ blend of athletic prowess and academic excellence, as the program continues to make strides both on and off the field.
