Continued wet weather as storm system crosses Utah

Meteorologists are predicting more wet weather in the Wasatch Front following a storm that hit the area yesterday. The storm is a statewide system, not limited to just the northern part of Utah. This wet weather will help prepare the soil for snowfall and spring runoff. Tooele Valley received the most rain, with 0.38 inches recorded, while Salt Lake City International Airport recorded 0.13 inches. The chances of rain are expected to diminish throughout the day, but dry, overcast weather is forecasted for Salt Lake City on Wednesday and Thursday. There is a slight chance of rain in Cache Valley on Halloween night. Overall, the wet weather is beneficial for recharging soil moisture and ensuring that spring runoff can make it down to the reservoirs.
