The New York Jets have acquired wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a conditional draft pick, reuniting him with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Adams, a six-time Pro Bowl selection, has not played since Sept. 22 due to a hamstring injury but has 18 catches for 209 yards and one touchdown this season. The Jets hope Adams will boost their passing offense, which is currently ranked 16th in the NFL with an average of 217.2 passing yards per game. The trade is the Jets’ second major move of the season after firing head coach Robert Saleh on Oct. 8. Adams, 31, was a second-round pick of the Green Bay Packers in 2014 and spent nine seasons with the team before being traded to the Raiders in March 2022. Last season, he had 103 catches for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns. In his career, Adams has recorded 890 receptions for 10,990 yards and 96 touchdowns. The Jets, who are 2-4 and in third place in the AFC East, are looking to improve their performance after losing to the Buffalo Bills on Monday. They are hoping that the addition of Adams will help spark their offense and lead them to more success in the remainder of the season.
