After a storied career in college basketball coaching, former BYU and Utah coach Dave Rose has announced his retirement. Rose, who previously retired in 2019 after 14 seasons at BYU, came out of retirement to join the Utah coaching staff for the past two seasons.
Rose initially made a name for himself as the head coach at BYU, where he led the Cougars to eight NCAA Tournament appearances and became the school’s all-time winningest coach. He guided the team to multiple Mountain West Conference championships and was named the conference’s coach of the year multiple times.
After stepping down from his role at BYU, Rose took on a new challenge as an assistant coach at the University of Utah under head coach Larry Krystkowiak. During his time with the Utes, Rose played a key role in recruiting and player development while also providing valuable insights and experience to the coaching staff.
