The UN Security Council announced a meeting to discuss the situation as concerns grow over the stability of the Middle East. The US President Joe Biden called for a diplomatic solution, emphasizing the need to avoid a full-scale war. The Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib criticized Biden’s response as not strong enough, calling for US intervention to resolve the crisis.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced in Lebanon, seeking shelter in schools and makeshift locations. Displaced families recount fleeing multiple times due to continuous Israeli strikes targeting civilians. Meanwhile, Iran’s President called for a ceasefire in Gaza and an end to Israel’s actions in Lebanon to prevent further escalation.
