Brittany Furlan, Tommy Lee’s spouse, shares harrowing encounter with coyote attempting to take her dog.

Comedian Brittany Furlan and husband Tommy Lee, of Mötley Crüe fame, had a scary encounter when a coyote tried to snatch their small dog, Neena, near their home in Los Angeles. Furlan posted surveillance video of the incident on Instagram, showing the coyote grabbing Neena by the pool before Furlan intervened and saved her. Furlan credited Neena’s extra weight for preventing the coyote from carrying her over the wall. The incident served as a reminder of the dangers coyotes pose to pets in Southern California, where they are a common sight. Coyotes typically weigh between 10 to 35 pounds and are known to be attracted to small pets, trash, and pet food left outside. To prevent coyote attacks, people are advised not to leave small pets unattended outside and bring them indoors at night. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife estimates that there are between 250,000 to 750,000 coyotes in the state, and the animals have adapted to living alongside humans in many communities. Furlan, while shaken up by the incident, stressed the importance of being vigilant and not getting too comfortable when it comes to pet safety around coyotes.
