The ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia has experienced significant developments on its 937th day. In Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine, a Russian attack claimed the life of one person and left a 90-year-old woman injured. Despite Russia’s use of drones and guided air missiles, the Ukrainian air force managed to shoot down 46 out of 52 drones and prevent the missiles from reaching their targets. Ukraine successfully struck an arms depot in Russia’s Tver region, causing a massive fire and leading to the evacuation of the town of Toropets.
In terms of politics and diplomacy, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the country’s “victory plan” to end the war with Russia and plans to discuss it with US President Joe Biden during an upcoming visit to the US. Zelenskyy is also set to address the United Nations Security Council, with support from NATO members calling for a collective response to Russian violations of airspace. Additionally, Russia detained Major General Denis Putilov on suspicion of accepting bribes in the defense sector.
US officials have expressed interest in obtaining more detailed information from Ukraine about the use of Western-supplied long-range weapons aimed at striking within Russia. As world leaders gather for the United Nations meetings in New York, the situation remains tense with ongoing military clashes and diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.
